Police swoop in to save a hawk that made an unexpected visit inside a home in New Jersey.
According to Gloucester Township Police, just before 5 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026, (Unofficial) Wildlife Officer Ptl. Ryan Fink, and partner Ptl. Michael Dilks were called to the Broadmoor Development after receiving a report about a large bird that flew through a resident’s window.
When the officers arrived on scene, police said they found a Redtail Hawk, whose name is Hank. The bird was startled and confused but in “good spirits.”
Police even provided photos of the officers holding Hank:
Police said a local animal control officer then picked up Hank and transported him to Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge for evaluation and treatment.
