A stretch of Ridge Avenue in Philadelphia was closed Friday morning as firefighters worked to put out hot spots from a train car fire.
The fire occurred Thursday afternoon on a Conrail train car near 2100 MLK Drive on the Wynnefield Heights side of the Falls Bridge. While the fire was placed under control, firefighters continued to work to put out hot spots on Friday around 6 a.m. as they pumped water from across the bridge.
Due to the firefighter activity, all lanes of Ridge Avenue are currently closed between Midvale Avenue and I-76 at City Avenue.
No injuries were reported in connection to the fire. Officials have not yet revealed the cause.
