A broken water main covered cars and tree branches in ice in South Philadelphia early Friday morning.
The water main break occurred on Juniper and Dickinson streets shortly before 4:30 a.m.
The broken water main caused water to spew more than 20 feet into the air as it landed on tree branches and cars and then froze during the frigid early morning temperatures.
Responding crews were able to shut the water main off. Officials have not yet revealed the amount of properties impacted.
