A local animal shelter is in need of a laundry list of supplies for dogs and puppies after, representatives of the group said, they found a storage unit “completely flooded” over this past weekend.
On Sunday, the Gone Rogue Girls Rescue posted about the issue on social media.
In the post, organizers with the shelter said they found a storage unit “completely flooded” and “years of hard work. Gone in a single moment.”
Due to water damage, the group said, they found food, formula for puppies, crates and more all destroyed.
Now, the shelter is seeking donations to ensure the animals in its care will have the supplies they need.
“As a mastiff and XL guardian breed rescue, our supplies are not small — and neither is the cost to replace them,” the shelter representatives posted online. “The crates alone are hundreds of dollars each. The food, the bins, the shelving — it all adds up so quickly. We are heartbroken. But our dogs still need us. And right now, we need you.”
In an online post, the shelter said it had some “immediate needs,” including:
- XL Crates — 54”, 48”, and 42”
- Heavy-duty tote bins
- Dry dog food — XL breed, All Life Stages, Adult, and Puppy formulas
- Storage shelving
- Treats
- Cleaning supplies & other essential rescue supplies
But, the shelter noted, anything helps as they face this new challenge.
