A Chester County man pleaded guilty to murdering a young child after punching him in the stomach a year and a half ago, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
A nine-month-old child was being cared for by Enrique Lopez-Gomez, 32, in June of 2024 when investigators said that Lopez-Gomez fell on top of the child and punched him when he cried.
Lopez-Gomez did not report the child’s injuries and officials said he did not provide aid for the child.
It was hours later when first responders were called to a home in Kennett Square and found the child unresponsive.
Officials took the child to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. His cause of death was caused by blunt force trauma.
