One person was killed and another is in critical condition after a car crashed into the back of a SEPTA bus on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The crash occurred in the area of Island Avenue and Buist Avenue in the city’s Eastwick neighborhood at around 4:28 p.m., police said.
According to police, a 2019 Honda HRV crashed into the back of a SEPTA bus, and then a black Jeep Compass crashed into the back of the Honda.
The driver of the Jeep was uninjured, but the driver of the Honda was taken to the hospital in critical condition and the passenger was pronounced dead at 5:20 p.m., police said.
No injuries were reported on the SEPTA bus either, police said.
The identities of those involved have not been released and the crash remains under investigation by the Philadelphia Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit.
