Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts can now add author to his resume.
The former Super Bowl MVP released a children’s book titled “Better Than a Touchdown” on Tuesday.
The book, authored by Hurts and illustrated by Nneka Myers, narrates the story of Hurts and his friends as they eagerly anticipate the start of a new school year and the opportunity to try out for the football team. However, they are devastated to learn that the team has been cut. Undeterred, the group rallies the community together to save the team.
The story looks to showcase “that by working together, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish.”
Hurts appeared on TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle to discuss the book and the real-life teachers and role models who inspired the story.
“All of the great characters represent something and someone and I wouldn’t be where I am without them,” Hurts explained.
