Man collapses, dies after fall from motorcycle in Port Richmond, officials say

A man collapsed and died, police said, shortly after falling from a motorcycle on Aramingo Avenue in Philly’s Port Richmond neighborhood early Wednesday.

According to police, the incident happened at about 5:53 a.m. when a 71-year-old man feel from his motorcycle while traveling southbound along the 3800 block of Aramingo Avenue.

After he fell, officials said, the man climbed to his feet, walked around his bike before picking in back up and inspecting it for damage.

A few minutes later, police said, the man collapsed to the ground.

A civilian at the scene attempted life-saving techniques, but first responders pronounced the man at the scene at 6:04 a.m., police said.

Officials did not immediately provide further identifying information on the man who died in this incident.

An investigation into this incident, officials said, is underway.
