A recall has been issued on Crayola-branded pip-Cubes, after, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the seams on the toy can separate, allowing magnets to come loose and become a choking hazard if swallowed.
The alert was issued on Dec. 4, 2025.
The cubes, branded for the Pennsylvania-based Crayola company were manufactured by CreateOn, a company based in Illinois.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, if the magnets are swallowed by a child, after they come loose from the toy, they could become lodged in the digestive system, potentially causing “perforations, twisting, and/or blockage of the intestines, blood poisoning and death.”
“This recall involves CreateOn Crayola-branded pip-Cubes, which are magnetic building cubes sold in Bold Colors and Glitter in sets of 24 or 27 cubes,” the commission said. “The Bold Colors cubes are red, green, blue and yellow. The Glitter cubes are purple, pink, blue and green and have glitter on them. ‘Crayola’ is imprinted on the left side of each cube.”
The recall impacts products with the model UPC numbers:
- Bold Colors, 24 Cubes 1000199 850067300199
- Bold Colors, 27 Cubes 1000243 850067300205
- Glitter Cubes, 24 Cubes 1000205 850067300205
- Glitter Cubes, 27 Cubes 1000250 850067300250
The commission said that model/UPC numbers of the recalled cubes can be found on the bottom of the product packaging.
The company, CreateOn, has set up a toll-free for concerns about the product. It is at 800-333-0549 and can be called from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. central time, Monday through Friday.
